What will the candidates do to regulate trade?
Hillary Clinton |
Donald Trump
|
Hillary Clinton believes we must trade with other countries, but without putting American workers in harm's way. Hillary wants trade deals that create new jobs and business possibilities to the American people. Hillary believes if America wants to win in the global economy, they must create a trade system that benefits Americans. To do this, Hillary states that she will study each trade deal that falls under her and inspect it to see if it benefits Americans.

Donald Trump wants trade that increase jobs for Americans and increase the wages of Americans who already work. He believes China is a “currency manipulator” and wants the Treasurer Secretary to label it as such. He believes China has violated trade cases and has stolen trade secrets from America, so he wants to confront China and ask it to stop its illegal trade activities. He also wishes to remove Mexican sweatshops, since they remove jobs and wages from Americans, and Donald wishes to fix the “one-sided” tariff Mexico has.

Jill Stein |
Gary Johnson |
Jill believes NAFTA hurt both Mexico and America, and is a reason why there has been many undocumented immigrants. Jill Stein wishes to create trade deals that help both American citizens, and citizens of the country we are trading with. Jill also wants to create trade deals that help the working people, not just large corporations. To do this, Jill will study all trade deals and determine if they will help the American people.

Gary believes that free trade is possible. He does not believe attacking China will help America in the trading business. Gary supports NAFTA, a trade deal that includes America, Canada, and Mexico, because he believes that will help the American people, and because Mexico is not taking American jobs. Gary states that, as president, wants to make trade with “no tariffs, no restrictions”.
